Privacy Policy

Cape (“we”, “our”) is designed to work on-device. We do not collect, store, sell, or share personal information about you.

What Cape Collects

Nothing. Cape does not collect or store any data, including:

• Personal information (such as name, email, phone number, address)
• Location information
• Usage analytics or tracking data
• Advertising identifiers or profiles

Cape also does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs. In fact, Cape does not use any third-party SDKs or open-source components at all – every feature is built directly on Apple’s iOS APIs.

Screen Time / Family Controls (On-Device Only)

Cape can use Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls APIs (such as FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity) to help you apply app and web restrictions.

Due to how Apple designed these APIs for privacy, Cape cannot know which specific apps, categories, or web domains you select. When you choose items using Apple’s system picker UI (the “Choose Activities” screen), iOS returns opaque tokens (for example, application tokens, category tokens, and web domain tokens). These tokens:

• Cannot be converted by Cape into app bundle identifiers, app names, category names, or domain names;
• Do not allow Cape to enumerate what apps are installed on your device;
• Do not give Cape access to your app-usage history, your browsing history, or what you are currently using;
• Are non-reversible and are only meaningful to iOS on your device;
• Are used only to ask iOS to enforce the restrictions you configured (enforcement happens inside iOS).

Cape store these opaque tokens locally on your device so your chosen restrictions can continue to work. They are not uploaded to our servers.

Your Choices

• You can revoke Screen Time / Family Controls authorization at any time in iOS Settings.
• You can use Cape offline.
• Deleting the app removes Cape’s locally stored settings and tokens from your device.
